GREECE.  Jansson van Waesberge.  "Graecia".  [c.1630] 1676. From Nieuwe en beknopte Uytbeeldinge ...   7½ x 10" (19 x 25 cm). Uncolored. Condition: Very good. 

Covers all of present Greece except Crete; the adjacent areas to the north are shown, including Constantinople. There is an abundance of Aegean islands, but little detail in Asian Turkey.

The map focuses exclusively on Crete. Decoration includes a handsome cartouche and ships at sea.

A map of southern Greece, showing rivers, mountains and towns. Athens is shown off the peninsula.

TURKEY: ISTANBUL.  Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. "Constantinople / Stambool". Dated 1840. 12½ x 15½" (32 x 39 cm). Blue outline of shore waters. Condition: Very good. 

The Ottoman capital on the Golden Horn at almost 3 inches/mile. Many crooked street and irregular blocks are shown. A multiplicity of landmarks and features are identified, with footprints of important buildings.

Covers the central portions of the former Yugoslavia. Belgrade is at the eastern edge the Dalmation coast to the west.
