Folds reinforced; some light extraneous creases; very
little of the usual flaws characteristic of the large
Moll maps; very good. A
big, handsome map of the Iberian peninsula. The
provinces that bring variety to the Spanish nation are
outlined and boldly labeled. Two cartouches; one for the
title, another for the dedication to "John Duke of
Argile &c General of Her Majesty's Forces in
Spain". In a surface note, Herman Moll launches
into a tirade over "maps ... put out by Ignorant
Pretenders." This map is as clean as maps come from
The World Described. |

A stunningly decorative map of Portugal and
adjacent Spain, including the Strait of
Gibraltar. Much detail, including major roads,
and even offshore soundings. The configuration
of the coastline resembles a man's head in
profile. |
